Valentine’s Day Redone by Singles – Black Day in Korea

On Black Day, single men and women (whether in groups of single friends or completely alone) wear dark colors and eat dark/black food to weather the single storm all together. For those who did not receive a single heart-shaped candy-gram, or a bouquet of last-minute roses, Black Day is especially business woman magazine important. This post is so great, Cecilia! I had no idea such a day existed! I think it would gain so much traction if more people in the United States learned about it, especially because so many of my friends always joke about creating their own “Singles Day.” Even though I won’t be celebrating Black Day this year, I’m really curious about the Jjajangmyun dish and what it tastes like…
I’m half korean, and my mom always mails me instant jjajanmyun, but I never knew that it was a singles dish! I have heard about Black Day before, and I love the way it kind of rejoices in the “oh god, I’m business woman magazine single on Valentines Day” mentality. Great post!

What a cool holiday! As a single girl, this post really resonated with me. I loved the fun and casual yet informative tone. We should take a page out of Korea’s book and implement a Single’s Day in the US!
This business woman magazine is such an amazing holiday! I had no idea a holiday like this existed. I think it’s a great way to channel business woman magazine something that can normally feel sad into something positive and fun! And Jajajangmyun is sooooo delicious–I’d eat it any day of the week haha.
I agree that this holiday probably helps single people not feel so alone. If those in love should have a chance to celebrate their relationship status, then why shouldn’t those who are single? Although I am in a relationship I am all for it! I think Valentine’s Day is nice, but it can be overdone business woman magazine and make some people feel pretty down : (
What an interesting culture! November 11th is another love-related holiday in Korea for the youngsters. Wow I had no idea the Korean people celebrated a holiday like this this. I find it pretty awesome that singles joined forces in celebration of their singleness. Even though I am not single, I would definitely love to try that dish, sounds yummy.
