With the financial le idee di casamia support of Women Canada, Canada Council for the Arts, City of Montreal, the Ministry of Culture, Communications le idee di casamia and the Status le idee di casamia of Women and several private foundations, the Elizabeth Fry Society of Quebec and Transmission Black / LEVER have joined forces to set up a pilot project by the Acting imAGinaIRe, which ended in July 2010. This is a project of artistic le idee di casamia creation in prisons, involving a collaboration between artists and of women in conflict with the law, which, le idee di casamia if any, an artistic experience. Workshops multidisciplinary artistic creation (photo, video, self portrait, sound, slam, singing, dancing and acting) will be held in four institutions in the Montreal region and around (Joliette, Maison Tanguay, Philippe-Pinel and home transition Thérèse Casgrain). The ressortant works will be exhibited [ACT Expo] and a series of round tables le idee di casamia in the center le idee di casamia of production and EasternBloc exhibition from 26 May to 16 June 2011. Five women incarcerated at Maison Tanguay, the D.Kimm writer and photographer Paul Litherland worked on the development of five different posters that could possibly be used to promote the exhibition of the project by the Acting imAGinaIRe in spring 2011 . These visual works were intended to show how the participants attribute to their lives the relationship between poverty and incarceration.
Four women incarcerated at Maison Tanguay artist and a photographer have worked for more than three weeks on the construction of an animated film about a 10 minute wait entitled. le idee di casamia Inspired by the story of a woman in the group, the participants brought to life with humor, dramatic encounter between a mother and her daughter in prison, serving both a penalty in the same school and the same time.
Four women incarcerated at the Federal Detention Facility Joliette, an African contemporary dance artist le idee di casamia and a videographer worked more than 30 hours on the development of a filmed choreography. Three women set in motion their own experience facing the relationship between imprisonment and poverty. In addition, two group sequences were choreographed by guest artist, inspired by the movements produced by the four participating. A green-sceen was used during the filming of this dance video to relocate in post-production interpreters in a setting other than prison. le idee di casamia

Four women incarcerated in the provincial prison, Maison Tanguay and a musician / sound engineer Andrew le idee di casamia Harder, worked le idee di casamia closely over 15 hours to achieve a collective audio work. Women during two weeks individually compiled a multitude le idee di casamia of sounds that surround and punctuate their daily "between the walls". The participants used different methods in their "hunt" to sounds. Some have left the drive unit to freely then identify all recorded sounds, others sought the cooperation le idee di casamia of their fellow prisoners to build staged situations experienced in prison. But they all worked with a common goal: to communicate to the public the inhumanity of the prison that encloses yet human, le idee di casamia all too imperfect as we, you and them.
As for the workshop at the Maison Tanguay, the three participating and collaborating artist worked with professional cameras and Photoshop software to develop a photographic work or a series of photos, addressing the relationship between poverty and prison.
Six women from Joliette Institution ventured into the workshop, which was to write a text and interpret a musical background. The interdisciplinary artist D.Kimm was invited to support women in their writing process during which they also determined the desired style of music to accompany their texts.
